Mountain Skinner – 80CrV2 High Carbon Steel & Box Elder
The Mountain Skinner is a compact, three-finger fixed blade designed around controlled skinning work. Its contoured box elder scales feature a rounded butt that fills the palm, providing support behind the grip without the added length of a full-sized handle. The natural grain gives each handle its own character, complementing the blade’s understated stonewashed finish.
Its broad, 3-inch blade is made from 80CrV2 high carbon steel and finished with a stonewash that helps conceal scratches, scuffs, and everyday wear. A sweeping belly provides a curved cutting surface for skinning and slicing, while the defined tip allows for more detailed work. Jimping along the spine provides additional texture for finger or thumb placement during controlled cuts.
At approximately 6 inches overall, evenly divided between blade and handle, the Mountain Skinner offers a practical cutting profile in a compact package. Designed by Eli, made by James, and individually shaped, heat treated, finished, and assembled by hand in Ellijay, Georgia, each knife comes with a fitted Kydex sheath.
